Organization: Removing the Clutter
While at home, where do you spend a good majority of your time? For some people, it is in front of the television. For others, it is the bedroom. And for many of you, like me, it is in front of the computer. However, many of us have different cleaning methods and practices. For those of you like me, I try to keep everything organized and infrequently have a small clutter. For many of my past roommates, a clutter seemed to be their lifestyle.
Some of my best work has come after a good cleansing and I don’t mean fasting and drinking only lemon and cayenne pepper water. When I take the time to clean the room and all of it’s clutter, I sleep better. When I clean the dishes and wipe down the counters, I cook better. When I minimalize and organize my desk, I write better. It all comes back to the distracting clutter that sits about.
I have never met someone who hasn’t felt better about their situation when things are cleaner. I have encouraged and helped many people spend the measly 15 minutes to organize a room. It doesn’t take much effort either. Usually, the thinking and worrying about the clutter is what causes more stress and less productivity.
My first suggestion is to focus on an area at a time. This can be tough for me as I am like a kid on a trampoline. I try to get a million things done at once, but my best organizing is when I focus on a specific area. Second, try to rid yourself of some things. A few things here and there will add up and make your ‘zone’ a much tidier one. Lastly, I try to maintain the organization. With my desk, I consciously try and put things back in their place.
We all have times where there just isn’t enough time in that day to put in some great organizing time (We will discuss time management in another blog). But if you try and take 5 minutes to clean up an area, that’s five less minutes you will have to organize later. Take small bites at the clutter and soon enough it will be nonexistent.

Thanks and have a great clutter-less evening…..

Schucks...This one is super unique. No similar posts.

Today I took everything out of my bedroom and vacuumed/washed the wood floor. The only things that went back in were my bed, the dog’s small bed, a small night stand w/ lamp and alarm clock, and a short/skinny book case with only the most essential books.
What I difference. I will sleep soundly now that all the clutter has been removed.
