Monthly Goal Report – May 2011

It may have taken a few months, but i think I have finally found my groove with these monthly goal reports.

What I Accomplished in May 2011

• Tied the Knot – I think I should mention this first as my life is going to be completely different and better now that I am sharing it with the love of my life. Goal wise, surviving the chaos that comes with a wedding was definitely a goal that I succeeded at.
• Built a Niche Site - The Vitamix Review became my first attempt at building a successful niche site. Since following Pat Flynn and his stellar success, I have wanted to take big steps to accomplish even a small percentage of what he has. This was one of those big steps. Now, you won’t find The Vitamix Review all over Google, but it’s a start and I will be looking to grow it…fast. More to come on this. Plus, see how I built the site in a weekend.
• Wrote Multiple Pillar Articles for Life Excursion – Following my wedding, I knew I needed to kick it up a notch. So, I committed to making one pillar article for Life Excursion in the month of May. Not only did I write one, but I wrote 5 (what I would consider) pillar articles. You can check them out here, here, here, here, and here. As some of you may have noticed, I have kicked back my schedule to Monday and Thursdays here at Life Ex. The reason is to create more pillar articles and less fluff. I think you would agree with that decision.

What I Learned

May was a big month in my life. Getting married was a major reason for that and that life-long commitment brought a sense of reality to the fact that I need to continue working hard and harder to make my dream a reality.

It is crazy how I learn more because I am scared to death of what could happen if I turn into the other married people I know. You know, the unsatisfied, clock-punchers. Yeah, I don’t want that to be me. That’s why I work so hard now so I can reap the benefits later.

Something else I learned (or remembered) was that for success to become a reality, I have to start. It doesn’t matter how small or big of an action. I just have to start. Remember that when you are stuck or procrastinating. Just start and everything will work itself out.

June 2011 Goals

Well, with World Domination Summit starting June off right, I have a strong feeling I am going to have an extremely busy and productive month.

• Write 5 Pillar Guest Posts - I need to grow this audience faster than I have. Part of the reason I haven’t addressed guest posts quite so much was because i wanted to have the site dialed in and have some pillar content for readers to be able to build upon. However, it is time. Through WDS, I hope to find some options for guest posting and continue to deliver killer content here.
• Get One Freelance Gig – The excuses continue on this one. However, I am bound and determined to change this. Enough said. This will be done this month.
• Increase The Vitamix Review Natural Traffic – I don’t want to rely on traffic from my articles at Life Ex to boost my numbers at The Vitamix Review. I will be developing some pillar content for the niche site and working on backlinks. I promise to detail this further in the coming weeks.

We are just going to stick with those for now. I have a feeling I will accomplish much more this month, but I want to make sure to complete these goals and run from there.
