Monthly Goal Report – April 2011

My apologies for being so let on April’s monthly goal report. Better late than never…right?

Let the excuses continue. Actually, I need to stop that…ASAP.

What I Accomplished in April 2011

The month of April was crazy. One word explains it all…WEDDING.

From the beginning of April until just recently, my life was consumed with doing things for my wedding and going on my honeymoon. Was there time in there to accomplish much more? Absolutely! However, as you will see, the major goal I set in March was accomplished and I was highly satisfied with the result.

  • Launched Destination X – To say launching Destination X was a success would be understating the momentous action that it was. It all came down to one simple sentence for me. Jonathan Mead, a man I admire and emulate, said it simply enough, “One of the Best Guides to Accomplishing Goals I Have Ever Seen!” How awesome is that. A major reason for the success of Destination X was the major personal marketing approach I took (click here to read about it) and how that impacted the potential growth of Life Excursion, my business and my future.
  • Make $100 via eBook – I gave the majority of the launch to affiliates and Nate Damm of Nate Walks America and followed that by paying back the funds I used to build Destination X. With that said, I did meet this goal…surprisingly.

What I Learned

Well, by now, you realize how few goals I accomplished based on my March report. What I learned though was that putting all your faith and effort into one project makes it the best it can be. Thus, Destination X had an amazing launch that I am proud about.

Sure, I didn’t accomplish a few other goals I set, but I accomplished something in amazing fashion. We have to be proud of our incredible works and live with the fact that some other goals may fall to the wayside.

Does this mean I won’t set more than one goal going forward? Definitely not. However, I will approach them differently. I will try to set a schedule for attacking each goal for, at minimum, 15 minutes per day and see if that builds to more success. Time will tell.

May 2011 Goals

  • Start a Niche Site – I have been following Pat Flynn’s journey to building profitable niche sites and it’s way past time for me to make this a reality. I am going to follow his step-by-step posts to establish some random niche site that may or may not lead to me being the next Pat Flynn. To make this a reality, I need to start. So, that’s what I will do.
  • Get One Freelancing Gig – I love developing my own products and services, but this is a mode of revenue I have not properly addressed. Until I address it, I will not know it’s full potential. Thus, I am going to focus on getting just one gig. I found that if I don’t set the goal to SUPER SIMPLE, I tend to fail.
  • Write One Pillar Article for Life Excursion – What if every article at Life Excursion was a pillar article? That would be saying something. It can be done. Just look at ViperChill. To make that a reality, I am going to focus on just one. Let’s build from there.

Sure, the goals may appear small, but they will propel me to achieving more. Often we overlook just getting started and hopefully, this new approach to my goals will lead to bigger and brighter things.

Congratulations on your launch! If you need any help with the freelance aspect I might be able to help. I do a ton of freelance right now. So much that I hardly feel like I have free time to work on what I want and I’m getting behind.

What kind of freelance are you looking to do?

Hello David … So nice to see you at Life Excursions. Yes … it’s definitely time for me to set some transformational goals: (1) monetizing my blog; (2) driving more traffic to my site; (3) becoming a world-class bridge player; (4) doing great voice acting tv and radio commercials. So there you have it … Best wishes to you David. Are you still posting to The Minimalist Path?
