(6 Months to Freedom Series: Check out Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3, before diving into Part 4 here.)
________________
While I have been developing this series to accomplish freedom in 6 months, there have been two overarching aspects I haven’t been able to ignore. Now, there are a lot of tangible action steps that still need to be addressed. However, we first should address two of the general characteristics to which we either fail or succeed.
Ignore Everyone
I will start by saying everyone isn’t everyone.
In the 6 Months to Freedom area, everyone are the people who think you are crazy, dumb, stupid, incompetent, and so on in regards to accomplishing freedom within 6 months. Everyone does not include those that teach you how to accomplish your goals, promote your efforts and generally propel your success.
The reason I state the word ‘everyone’ is because when trying to accomplish your goal, the people you have spent most of your time in your life of not accomplishing your dream do not want you to leave their world. They want you to fail. Sure, they may not say so in such direct words, but they want you to see you live their mediocre life.
For example, when I started telling people I was going to quit my comfortable job back in 2008 (yes, the middle of the huge financial crisis), I received a huge backlash and questioning of my efforts. This list included, family, friends, co-workers, random people on the street and on and on. They want to see me continue a mediocre life. They wanted me to “play it safe”. What this all really was was their attempt to prove that mediocrity was okay and that their comfortable lifestyle was what I should try to attain or keep.
Boy were they wrong.
I lived and traveled through parts of the world I was curious about and loved. I fell in love and eventually married my love. I found what I truly wanted in life. This was all accomplished by ignoring everyone around me that told me this was stupid.
Like I stated earlier though, everyone doesn’t mean everyone. I did ignore a lot of folks who could have catapulted my success into a life-long journey of such. By this I mean, I didn’t establish an income source that could have continued my dreams. I fulfilled the need to get the “hell outta there”, but didn’t do what was needed to “stay outta there”.
What it comes down to is ignoring everyone who is not adding to your journey in a positive way and becoming a sponge to the help of others that are trying to add bits and pieces of positivity to your path.
Commit Everything
Let me be blunt with you. If you think this 6 Months to Freedom is or will be easy, it won’t. In fact, it might just be the toughest thing you ever do. If you are doing what you truly love though, it shouldn’t matter how tough the journey is. You will be doing what you love which is the only true way to live life.
When I finally set my Pillar Declaration, I decided I would commit everything in me to accomplishing the goal. Here comes the surprising part, I actually started to see results. Crazy, huh?! Once, I committed everything to this goal, I started seeing the pieces of the puzzle coming together.
What I suggest to you is to take a stand right now. Write it down. Tell someone who supports you and will push you to be more. Commit to your goal. Stop wavering. If you want ‘A’, then start doing everything that makes ‘A’ a reality.
That may mean all day jaunts to unproductive, unhealthy drinking and eating. Or that may mean skipping the movies with friends. Or that may mean cutting up all your credit cards. Whatever the means to an end, you must commit to it or just give up altogether on achieving or attempting your goal. If you aren’t willing to sacrifice, then you aren’t worthy of your goal. Strong statement? Absolutely, but anything less is pointless.
So, What Is It
If you truly want to succeed, take these principles and apply to your next 6 months. I guarantee you will find success if you are willing to bring these two characteristics to the table.

I agree very much with the “ignore everyone” statement. When I comitted to freedom a few years ago, all kinds of people tried to talk me out of it. However, the truth is they didn’t even know what they were talking about. They had never even walked on the path of freedom. Until now I don’t regret a single day of it.
