Goal Seekers Series: Courtney Carver of Be More With Less

(This is part 1 in a 3 part series this week detailing those who have or soon will be accomplishing their amazing goals. This series leads up to the launch of Destination X on April 18th, 2011)

11 Months. What do you think you could accomplish in 11 months? For some, this length of time is a stepping stone to bigger and better things. For Courtney Carver, it is starting a wildly successful blog in a highly congested niche and writing a spectacular eBook. All in a days 11 months work.

Being More With Less

As the approach of Life Excursion teaches, the act of wandering aimlessly can be straightened fairly quickly when one determines what their true passion is. If that true passion has yet to be found, I strongly suggest eliminating any and all that does not promote such action. At Be More With Less, I find this exact mentality.

Having less allows a person to find their true calling, their true passion. How often do you find yourself feeling “crowded” by stuff, people and the world in general? Now, what do you think would happen if you took all of the “crowded” aspects out of your life? Do you think you would be able to think much clearer?

Through the last few years of living a minimalist/simplistic lifestyle, I have found that the fewer forces pushing in on me, the greater control I have over my life.

The best part about removing the outside forces holding us back is the opportunity to have more. More of what we love and are passionate about.

Could Your Goals Need Less

Let’s assume there is a goal you would love to accomplish, but the outside world keeps you from doing so. Could your goals become a reality if they needed less? Are the current goals too broad or too consuming to allow free-thinking to occur.

Maybe it is time to simplify the goals and start maximizing the actions towards the core principles of said goal(s).

You Can Have More

The first thing most people think about when I ask them to simplify, they think I am taking things away. This is far from the case.

By simplifying your life, your goals become drastically easier. We can start having the nicer experiences/things in life and reduce the mediocrity of the things/experiences we already subside to.

You can have more. More is not bad. It is a matter of maximizing those things that are of significance and not mediocrity.

Goal Seeker: Courtney Carver

The 1st of 5 Goal Seekers this week is Courtney Carver. First and foremost, it is because she has become such a strong voice in the simplifying world. Secondly, it is because she is launching her first eBook entitled Simple Ways to Be More With Less.

For those who may not know, writing an eBook is extremely difficult. It is a major goal that many set out to accomplish and most either half-ass it or never complete the goal.

Carver is launching her eBook because she set a goal, aligned the tangible action steps to complete it, and followed through. These are all of the principles I will be detailing come April 18th in my eBook Destination X. I feel that they are vital to our success. Luckily for Carver, she has learned from the best in Leo Babauta and Tammy Strobel and been able to see her goal come to fruition.

As an aside, I was honored that Courtney offered me a review copy of her eBook and I must say it was a true pleasure to read. It reminded me so much of the premise behind my first eBook Project M-31.

Simple Ways to Be More With Less counters the belief that to be of quality content, the content must be lengthy. In stark and positive contrast, SWBMWL details specific actions that can be implemented with direct, but open-ended possibilities.

I strongly suggest you pick up a copy of Carver’s new eBook by clicking here. At the very least check out what she has to offer at Be More With Less for free.
