Why in the world would anyone get organized? What could come of it? It just isn’t logical to organize my stuff when it could just sit where it has sat peacefully for a long, long time.
I mean, come on. There really isn’t a logical point to being organized. I don’t think that one benefit could outweigh the great stuff-filled lifestyle.
Here is my list of why you shouldn’t organize:
- Why put all the effort in? The stuff is just going to stay in some place so why not just where it already is. I would have to get up, exercise a little bit and put stuff in a manner that wouldbe easy to find later. I don’t see a benefit in all that effort.
- I would have to clean. The place would be all neatly kept and homely. I like my home a mess and I can easily see everything I know. That way if someone steals something, like my Homer Simpson foam head, then I know right away.
- I would have to get rid of stuff. I paid a lot of money, and still am in fact, for my stuff. I want it shown to everyone so they know how much stuff I got and how I live my life filled…with stuff obviously. Why would I want to get rid of all that fulfillment?
- Productivity? I productively leave stuff everywhere. I already told you, I know where I got every one of my things cause I can see them all from my LA-Z-Boy. I may have a hard time focusing and productively sticking to one task because all my stuff is in the way, but at least my stuff is easily accessible all the time.
- I would not be cluttered. It is sometimes nice to be in the warmth of my stuff piled high around me. It’s like insulation. Plus, if I got rid of the clutter, I would have too much room to know what to do with. I would have to find new stuff or things to do.

You were being ironic? I would never have guessed. Lol! People decluttering can donate a lot of that stuff to charities. Helping yourself clean up and helping others who don’t have enough stuff to even throw away.

Organizing and donating is a great way to kill two life improvement tasks with one stone.
Thanks for commenting Gordie. Looks like you are the first to my site every morning. Thanks for being a loyal reader.

I was waiting for the “haha” or “just kidding”. You certainly sounded sarcastic, but for a minute there a started to wonder. Kind of interesting to think about what your life would be like if you really were as cluttered and unorganized as this describes.
I am glad I got you (and what it sounds like) others interested in reading all the way through to discover the joke.

Haha, I’ll take being a minimalist over having that room pictured in your post.

Hey Ken…
I have seen that. It’s crazy. I get goosebumps seeing how different people live. I used to work for a junk removal company years ago and you could imagine what I would see.

At first when I read this I was like WTF? Haha. I’m a big fan of getting organized. I have a roommate who honestly loses his keys, credit cards, and everything else on a daily basis. I’ve told him if he got organized his anxiety level would go down dramatically.
I agree with your conclusion on your roommate.
And I am happy to have fooled you a bit.

It’s funny but actually your list made me think about the reasons I prefer some order. In particular I prefer to give away stuff I don’t use anymore because it de-clutter my mind.

Actually, Dave, I thought you made some pretty solid arguments in favor of being unorganized. I’m going to give your new method a whirl and let you know how it works out for me…(now where in the hell did I put the remote?)

Loving your sense of humor! You know what? You’re absolutely right and those excuses sound really lame. I think I’ll be cleaning a bit more than usual this weekend.
